Stay on trend – give yourself the edge on innovation

To stay competitive in your industry, you need to constantly adapt – whether it’s your processes, products or services.

Innovation is all about finding ways to do things better, more efficiently, or more economically. And every business has room for improvement, so it can evolve – and thrive.

The key to adapting is keeping your eyes on the trends in your industry. This way, you’re more likely to meet your market’s needs – or even better, preempt them.

How well do you know the trends in your industry?

With easy access to so much content online, wherever you are, keeping your finger on the pulse of your industry is a cinch. Here are some ways to keep up to date:

  • Join Facebook or LinkedIn groups related to your industry and scour them for ideas and contacts – or set up alerts to be emailed to you.
  • Subscribe to online industry journals – some have daily email alerts.
  • Find networking events in your industry so you can meet others to share ideas with.
  • Subscribe to TED talks and podcasts from thought leaders in your space to broaden your thinking and identify innovation opportunities.

When we get out of our own way, our own thinking and open ourselves to input from other sources and people, that’s when the innovation juices start flowing.

Meeting and collaborating with business owners who aren’t in your industry is another great way to open your mind to innovative approaches to your business.

Our upcoming Innovation Day in October gives you this opportunity – and more!

It’s a full day packed with practical strategies you can implement right away. You’ll learn first-hand from business owners who have innovated their way to business success – and get plenty of ideas of how you can do the same.

Speakers include the phenomenal Amanda Westphal, Founder of Prize Pig. Amanda grew her business exponentially, taking her from 12-hour slogs to working just 30 minutes a day – using the power of innovation.
